Vectron has released two new GNSS disciplined oscillators. The High Stability MD–171 provides extended holdover performance while the MD–174 provides a low phase noise performing solution. www.vectron.com

By characterizing our oscillators over temperature and monitoring the performance over time, our modules will provide optimal performance for your application. Utilizing the best performing oscillators with our proprietary algorithms allows you to achieve performance that traditionally is met with rubidium or atomic based oscillators. Our disciplined oscillator modules can be found in LTE, LTE advanced and future 5G base stations and additionally are used in digital video broadcast and general timing and Instrumentation applications.

MD–171 Disciplined Oscillator Module

The MD–171 is a Extended Holdover GNSS disciplined module. It is a fully integrated GNSS disciplined oscillator module in a compact surface mount 40 x 50mm footprint. The module has an embedded 34 channel receiver that is both GPS and GLONASS compatible and provides a sinewave or CMOS 10MHz, and HCMOS 1pps output. An onboard precision OCXO provides stabilities in the unlocked mode enabling extremely low holdover. The module operates from −40°C to +85°C.

The MD–174 is a Low Noise GNSS disciplined module. It is a fully integrated GNSS disciplined oscillator module in a compact surface mount 40 x 50mm footprint. The module has an embedded 34 channel receiver that is both GPS and GLONASS compatible and provides a sinewave 10MHz and HCMOS 1pps output. An onboard OCXO provides stability in the unlocked mode. The module operates from −40°C to +85°C.

MD–261 Disciplined Oscillator Module

The MD–261 is a fully integrated GNSS disciplined oscillator module in a compact surface mount 25 x 20 mm package. The module has an embedded 34 channel receiver that is both GPS and GLONASS compatible. and provides an LVCMOS 10 MHz and 1 pps output. An onboard OCXO or High Precision TCXO is available dependent on performance requirements. The module operates from −40°C to +85°C, and is capable of providing a holdover of 1.5 µs over 2 hours over a ±2°C temperature window. An evaluation kit with operating software is available for development purposes.
