2026 Beijing Auto Show | MeiG Smart announces next-generation 5G cabin AI module SRM949

At Auto China 2026, MeiG Smart and Qualcomm jointly showcased new smart cockpit platforms based on QCM6650 / QCM8538 / QCM8838, including the SRM949 5G cabin-integrated AI module.

The module is equipped with 140K DMIPS CPU performance, 1.0 TFLOPS GPU, and 6 TOPS AI processing power. It supports Android 16 and is compliant with AEC-Q104 automotive-grade standards, targeting cockpit entertainment, instrument clusters, AVM, DMS/OMS monitoring, and T-Box connectivity.

According to Qualcomm senior sales director Yang An, MeiG Smart is among the first to adopt Qualcomm’s latest cockpit integration platforms, strengthening cooperation in AI-driven automotive ecosystems.

MeiG Smart CEO Du Guobin highlighted 15 years of collaboration with Qualcomm, with future focus on cockpit AI agents, multimodal AI integration, and intelligent communication systems.

AI Computing Performance

The SRM949 is based on Qualcomm QCM6650 with an 8-core 4nm Kryo CPU and dual Hexagon AI processors delivering 6 TOPS. It supports speech recognition, driver monitoring, and occupant sensing via edge AI models.

For graphics, it integrates an Adreno GPU supporting OpenGL ES 3.2, Vulkan 1.x, OpenCL 2.0, and DirectX FL12. It also includes a VPU supporting 4K encoding and decoding (H.264, HEVC, VP9).

Multi-screen capability supports WFHD+ 144Hz instrument clusters and 4K60 displays simultaneously for immersive cockpit experiences.

5G Connectivity & Positioning

The module supports 5G NR Sub-6GHz with 4×4 MIMO downlink and 2×2 uplink, plus Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.4. It also integrates dual-band L1 + L5 GPS for high-accuracy positioning in complex environments.

Interface & Sensor Integration

SRM949 includes LCM, touchscreen, 4x CSI camera inputs, UART, USB, I2C, SPI, and PCIe interfaces. This enables AVM, DMS, OMS, infotainment, and telematics functions within a single platform.

Designed to AEC-Q104 standards, the module operates in wide temperature ranges and is built for automotive reliability and performance.
