Taoglas Introduces a New High-Performance 3-in-1 GNSS and 4G/5G MIMO Screw Mount Antenna
Taoglas, an industry leader in advanced RF component design and connectivity solutions for IoT applications, has introduced its latest high-performance, compact, 3-in-1 combination antenna. The Olympian III 3-in-1 – GNSS and 2 x 5G/4G MIMO Screw Mount Antenna, part numbered MA181.A.001 is engineered for demanding external deployments, offering robust and reliable GNSS and 5G/4G MIMO connectivity in a rugged, space-efficient form factor.
The MA181.A.001 features two 5G/4G MIMO antennas covering the 600 MHz to 6000 MHz frequency range, ensuring compatibility with all global 5G FR1, LTE, 3G, and 2G bands. Alongside this, it integrates a precision GNSS antenna supporting GPS, GLONASS, and Galileo for enhanced satellite navigation accuracy. The GNSS element offers consistent gain and stable radiation patterns across all supported satellite constellations, ensuring reliable location performance. Designed specifically for permanent mount applications, the antenna boasts a low-profile screw-mount housing measuring just 59.45 mm in both length and width and 70 mm in height, making it ideal for discreet installation on vehicles, smart infrastructure, and outdoor IoT assets.
The MA181.A.001 is specifically designed for permanent screw-mount installations. It features a linear polarization and a maximum gain of 31.3 dBi, with a VSWR of less than 2, indicating excellent impedance matching. It is built with a durable ASA enclosure that meets the IP67 standard for water and dust ingress protection, making it ideal for harsh outdoor environments. An integrated rubber O-ring provides additional sealing beneath the antenna base, enhancing water resistance. The antenna’s rugged design allows it to be mounted on both metal and plastic surfaces without performance degradation, thanks to internal engineering that eliminates the impact of cable radiation.
The standard configuration includes 1 meter of TGC-1.5DS/RG-174 cable, terminated with straight SMA male connectors. However, Taoglas also offers cable and connector customization, including low-loss TGC-200 extensions for longer cable runs. The antenna has a 50-ohm impedance, weighs 130 grams, and supports an operating temperature range from -40°C to +85°C, ensuring reliable performance in a wide range of environments.
The MA181.A.001 excels in a variety of application areas such as smart metering, remote monitoring, digital signage, transportation, and telematics.
