ZXF90A-3-34X+ Frequency Multiplier by Mini-Circuits
The ZXF90A-3-34X+ from Mini-Circuits is a 3x Active Frequency Multiplier that converts an input frequency of 6 to 12 GHz into an output frequency of 18 to 36 GHz. This frequency multiplier integrates a GaAs HBT amplifier MMIC (LVA-273PN-D+) to drive the GaAs frequency tripler (CY3-453-D+). For suppressing the 2nd and 3rd harmonics two reflection less filters (XLF-962-DG+ & XHF-1832-DG+) are also integrated in the module. It has a conversion gain of -5 dB and can handle an input power of -3.5 to +1.5 dBm.
The in-built MMIC amplifier has an additive phase noise of -167 dBc/Hz at 10 kHz offset which makes it a great LO driver or a source for chipset testing. This active 3x multiplier offers harmonic suppression ranging from 35 to 55 dBc and includes built-in over-voltage and reverse voltage protection features. It requires a DC supply of +10 to +15 V and consumes less than 175 mA of current.
This frequency multiplier is available as a module that measures 46.99 x 43.94 x 14.57 mm and has SMA-female connector at the input and a 2.92 mm-male connector at the output port. It is ideal for 5G MIMO and backhaul radio systems, satellite communications, test & measurement equipment, radar, EW, and ECM defense system applications.
