The nRF93M1 from Nordic Semiconductor are LTE Cat1.bis Modules that operate from 617 to 2690 MHz. They are designed to deliver ubiquitous cellular connectivity worldwide for medium-range, data-intensive IoT applications. These modules provide location services based on Wi-Fi scanning and cellular-based eCID location tracking capabilities. They are compliant with the 3GPP Release 14 standard. These LTE Cat1.bis modules deliver a data rate of 5 Mbps in the uplink and 10 Mbps in the downlink with an output power of 23 dBm.

The nRF93M1 modules allow for remote provisioning using eUICC or eSIM and also supports framework for SoftSIM. These modules can be interfaced seamlessly with nRF Cloud, enabling simplified application development, secure firmware upgrade, lower deployment risk, and faster scale-up. They are equipped with multiple peripherals, including high-speed USB and UART, for remote control. These LTE modules utilize multiple power saving modes such as eDRX, PSM, and Nordic’s proprietary optimization schemes, thereby improving power efficiency. They are available in packages that measure 15.8 x 17.7 mm.
