ATEK MIDAS Provides Wideband MMIC Die Solutions to Accelerate RF Module Development
ATEK MIDAS is offering its broad portfolio of newly released and established MMIC die products designed to help RF engineers address challenges such as long lead times, end-of-life (EoL) components, and limited MMIC availability. The portfolio includes wideband driver amplifiers, RF switch MMICs, and low-noise amplifiers (LNAs) developed for radar, SATCOM, electronic warfare (EW), SIGINT, software-defined radio (SDR), counter-UAS (C-UAS), and RF test applications. Most of the company’s surface-mount MMICs are also available in die form, providing greater flexibility for integrated microwave assembly (IMA) and RF module development.
Key MMIC Die Products Offered by ATEK MIDAS
Wideband Driver Amplifiers for High-Performance RF Signal Chains
The latest additions to the portfolio include the ATEK564 and ATEK569 wideband driver amplifiers, which are fabricated using GaAs pHEMT technology to deliver high gain, output power, and linearity across broad frequency ranges. The ATEK564 operates from 5 to 22 GHz, providing up to 26 dB of gain, +21 dBm output 1 dB compression point (P1dB), and greater than +30 dBm output third-order intercept point (OIP3). The ATEK569 extends coverage from 0.2 to 26 GHz, offering 14 dB of flat gain, +25 dBm P1dB, and +35 dBm OIP3 for demanding broadband RF signal chains.
Broadband Switching Performance from DC to 22GHz
ATEK MIDAS also features the ATEK271 absorptive SP4T switch MMIC, designed for broadband signal routing from DC to 22 GHz. The switch provides 1.5 dB typical insertion loss, 45 dB isolation, and a 130 ns switching speed, making it suitable for radar front ends, electronic warfare systems, communications equipment, instrumentation, and multifunction RF platforms where signal integrity and fast switching are essential.
Low Noise Amplifiers (LNAs) High Gain, Low-Noise Performance for Sensitive Receivers
For receiver applications, the portfolio includes the ATEK160 and ATEK161 low-noise amplifier MMICs, which are designed to maximize receiver sensitivity while maintaining broadband gain performance. The ATEK160 covers DC to 28 GHz with a 3 dB noise figure, 15.5 dB gain, +17 dBm P1dB, and operates from an +8 V supply at 60 mA. The ATEK161 operates from 1 to 26 GHz, offering a 1.8 dB noise figure, 15.5 dB gain, +15 dBm P1dB, and requires a +5 V supply at 55 mA.
According to ATEK MIDAS, the MMIC die portfolio is intended to accelerate RF system development by combining stocked die inventory, engineering support, and high-performance RF solutions that reduce development time from concept through deployment. The devices are targeted at applications requiring broadband amplification, low-noise signal conditioning, and high-speed RF switching across modern defense, communications, and test systems.
