CMX994EF Front End Module by CML Microcircuits
The CMX994EF from CML Micro is a Direct Conversion Receiver IC. It is designed to perform frequency conversion from RF to baseband with excellent transient response during power up/down, enabling faster switching and improved power efficiency in TDMA systems. This receiver is based on an architecture that consists of an LNA with gain control, an I/O demodulator with high dynamic range and input IP2, amplifiers, baseband filter stages with configurable bandwidths, and an integer-N PLL. The architecture supports conversion of RF signal with zero-IF, near-zero IF, or low-IF modes, and eliminates image responses in the zero-IF mode.
The CMX994EF direct conversion receiver IC also includes LO dividers for flexible multi-band operations. It provides a gain of 17 dB with a noise figure of 13.5 dB and an LO leakage of -65 dBm. The integrated filters provide stopband rejection over a 2 kHz bandwidth in the ratio of 1:2:4 for precise filtering. This receiver IC requires a DC supply from 3 to 3.6 V, and utilizes PowerTrade mechanism to optimize power vs. performance characteristics, with a current consumption of less than 90 µA. It is available in a compact VQFN package measuring 6 x 6 mm. This receiver IC is ideal for analog/digital multi-radios, data telemetry, SATCOM, narrowband and wideband data systems, and SDR applications.
