5.3 – 5.9 GHz 50 Watt GaN Power Amplifier
The QPA2311 from Qorvo is a GaN Power Amplifier (PA) that operates from 5.3 to 5.9 GHz. It is fabricated using Qorvo’s 0.25 µm GaN-on-SiC process and is designed for C-band radar, communications, and commercial and military applications. This 50-ohm PA provides a saturated output power of 47 dBm (~50 W) with a power gain of 19 dB, and a power-added efficiency (PAE) of 50%.
The QPA2311 requires a pulsed drain supply voltage of 30 V and has a quiescent drain current of 1000 mA. This lead-free and RoHS-compliant PA is available in a QFN package measuring 6 × 6 × 0.85 mm and operates over a base temperature range from -40°C to +85°C.
Qorvo’s QPA2311 is a packaged power amplifier fabricated using Qorvo’s production 0.25 um GaN on SiC process (QGaN25). Operating from 5.3 – 5.9 GHz, the QPA2311 produces greater than 47 dBm of saturated output power with a 50% power-added efficiency and a large signal gain greater than 19 dB.
To simplify system integration, the QPA2311 is fully matched to 50 ohms with DC grounded I/O ports for optimal ESD performance.
The QPA2311 is ideal for supporting communications and radar applications in both commercial and military markets.
The QPA2311 is 100% DC and RF tested to ensure compliance to electrical specifications.
