Nordic Semiconductor is pleased to announce that it has been declared a winner of the China Electronic Market (CEM) Editor’s Choice Award 2015 for its nRF52832 Bluetooth® Smart System-on-Chip (SoC). The nRF52832 SoC, the first product in Nordic’s nRF52 Series, won the award in the “Most Competitive Interface Products in China” category.
In terms of selection criteria, the 2015 Editor’s Choice Awards, jointly hosted by China Electronic Market magazine and China Electronic Exhibition & Information Communication Co., Ltd., considered brand influence, market share, technological innovation, and product service. The nRF52832 SoC was judged to fulfill all of these criteria, including a sound sales performance in the Chinese market. In addition, the nRF52832 SoC featured among the best of its peers in market share and boasted one or more innovative features, while Nordic demonstrated pre-sales, sales, and after-sales services that were fast, meticulous and thoughtful, resulting in higher customer satisfaction.
The editors from CEM praised various features of the nRF52832 SoC, including a unique on-chip Near-Field Communication (NFC) – A tag for consumer-friendly Touch-to-Pair functionality. The functionality allows consumers to pair an nRF52832 SoC-powered wireless devices with NFC-equipped Bluetooth Smart and Bluetooth Smart Ready devices by simply bringing them into close proximity. No further intervention is required.

The nRF52 Series is Nordic Semiconductor’s sixth generation of ultra low power (ULP) wireless connectivity solutions. The nRF52832 features a 64 MHz, 32-bit ARM Cortex™-M4F CPU which delivers up to 60 percent more generic processing power, offering 10 times the Floating Point performance and twice the Digital Signal Processing (DSP) performance compared to competing solutions. The 2.4 GHz multiprotocol radio offers Bluetooth Smart (fully compatible with Bluetooth Version 4.2 (v4.2)) support with -96 dB RX sensitivity and 5.5 mA peak RX/TX currents. The nRF52832 also features 512 kB Flash memory and 64 kB RAM, a fully-automatic power management system that reduces power consumption by up to 80 percent compared with the nRF51 Series, on-chip analog and digital peripherals for glueless interfacing to external components, and an NFC™ tag for consumer-friendly Touch-to-Pair.
