Modbus Sensor Guards Against Costly Water Damage
Cost-Effective Modbus Sensor Enhances Protection From Flooding and Leaks
Meet Bus Probe #05, the newest member of Tibbo’s RS485 Modbus sensor family. BP#05 implements a cost-effective, low-power flood/leak detector that is ideally suited for building management (BMS) and automation systems (BAS). Just like its siblings, BP#05 comes in a durable, stylish, and compact housing. The sensor implements a Modbus RTU protocol over a half-duplex RS485 interface.
BP#05 works with a leak detection cable that reliably detects the presence of water and water-dissolved liquids. Unlike self-contained sensors that only detect the presence of water in their immediate vicinity, this cable — which can be up to 30m in length — allows you to guard a large area. For example, you can run the cable along windowsills to safeguard against even minor leaks.
For added reliability and safety, BP#05 features a -40°C to +85°C operating temperature range, inductorless isolation of the detection circuit from its power and RS485 bus, hot-swap protection, and ±65V fault and short-circuit protection for the RS485 lines.
To simplify the configuration and maintenance of BP#05 and all other Bus Probes, look no further than Tibbo’s Web485 board. Coupled with our BP test web app, this WebUSB-to-RS485 board allows you to upgrade BP firmware, set Modbus IDs, change the baudrate, and poll and graph a sensor’s output — all from within a browser. This even works on Android smartphones, meaning that the configuration and maintenance in the field can be performed with just your phone!
Industry Certifications Confirm the Reliability and Safety of the WS1102
Tibbo is proud to announce that our WS1102 Programmable Wireless RS232/422/485 Controller has received CE, FCC (ID: XOJ-WS1102), and UKCA certification. In addition, the WS1102 has also been certified as compliant with several other safety, EMC, and immunity standards, such as IEC 62368-1 (LVD 2014/35/EU). Through these certifications, we aim to provide you and your customers with peace of mind when marketing, selling, and operating the WS1102.
Thanks to a Wi-Fi range of up to 100m, simplified configuration over BLE, over-the-air updates, and a preloaded Serial-over-IP application, the WS1102 makes wirelessly connecting serial devices to IP networks easier than ever. Its -40°C to +85°C operating temperature range — tested according to procedures I, II, and III of MIL-STD-810H Method 501.7 and MIL-STD-810H Method 502.7 — means you can confidently deploy the WS1102 in a wide range of industrial applications.
