The CQM205 from Cavli Wireless is a 5G NR Sub-6 GHz Module with LTE Cat-12 fallback capability. It is designed for high-bandwidth applications requiring very fast connectivity and high-precision tracking information. This 5G NR module consists of a Quad-core Cortex A55 processor, a 1 GB RAM, and an 8 GB ROM. It also embeds Qualcomm’s Location Suite Gen 9 technology that supports GNSS connectivity in the L1 and L5 bands for constellation coverage. This module complies with the 3GPP Release 17 standard. It supports 4-carrier aggregation (4CA) over a bandwidth of 300 MHz and delivers a data rate of 3.7 Gbps (downlink) and 2.5 Gbps (uplink) in the 5G NR mode.

The CQM205 includes other network features such as eSIM for enhanced connectivity. This module has Cavli’s Hubble platform that allows users to configure and manage modem hardware and network parameters. It also features an Open SDK supporting multiple programming languages for flexibility and operates on Linux or OpenWRT platforms, making it suitable for application-level coding without requiring an external host MCU. This wireless module can be controlled using USB, PCIe, I2C, I2S, SPI, and UART interfaces. The module is available in a land grid array (LGA) package that measures 45 x 52 mm. It is ideal for IoT, V2X systems, industry 4.0, smart surveillance, and M2M applications.
