ANNA-B5 Series RF Module by u-blox AG
The ANNA-B5 Series from u-blox are Standalone Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) Modules that are designed for space-constrained applications. They are based on Nordic Semiconductor’s nRF54L15 wireless SoC and consist of an ARM Cortex-M33 microcontroller with open CPU architecture, a 1.5 MB NVM, 256 KB RAM, and an internal antenna. These modules support Bluetooth 6.0 standard and with the BLE radio, they incorporate Bluetooth channel sounding capabilities, enabling secure and accurate distance measurement between devices. They also support other wireless protocols such as Thread, Zigbee, Matter, and NFC. These BLE modules deliver a data rate of up to 1.4 Mbps and provide long range with coded PHY.
The ANNA-B5 Series are equipped with secure boot to ensure top-grade security, which ensures that the modules only boot up with authenticated u-connectXpress software from u-blox. These BLE modules have other security features – physical tamper detection, secure storage, secure FOTA, and crypto accelerator, and are designed to meet the PSA Certified Level 3 standard. They deliver an output power of up to +10 dBm. These modules require a DC supply of 1.7-3.6 V and can be controlled through UART, SPI, I2C, I2S, and GPIO interfaces. The modules are available as SiP packages that measure 6.5 x 6.5 x 1.2 mm. They are ideal for asset tracking, smart home, smart building, and healthcare applications.
