Knowles to Showcase its Innovative Product Line of RF & Microwave Components at EuMW 2025

Knowles Precision Devices, a leading provider of high-performance RF and microwave solutions, will be showcasing its latest lineup of advanced components at European Microwave Week (EuMW) 2025. They include 3-way and 6-way power dividers, high-frequency RF crossovers, switch filter banks, gain equalizers, quadrature hybrid couplers, and ceramic core inductors. These innovative components are engineered to meet the rigorous demands of modern RF systems across aerospace, defense, and next-generation communication markets.

Key Product Lines Showcased at EuMW 2025

3-Way and 6-Way Power Dividers

Wilkinson dividers: (3 dB per split) incorporating Knowles’ low loss, high permittivity dielectric materials to provide small size and temperature stability. The devices integrate thin film precision resistors and are offered for both solder surface mount (SMT) and chip and wire hybrid (WB) assembly applications. Click here to learn more.

Resistive dividers: Ideal for applications where small size and broadband performance are critical for success. While resistive dividers work very well from DC to mm wavelength frequencies the isolation of a resistive divider is only equal to the nominal power splitting of the device (ie. 6 dB on a two way splitter). The advantages of a resistive divider are small size and ability to work broadband including DC. No other type of divider can operate at DC.

High Frequency RF Crossover

Knowles’ RF Crossover features a newly engineered grooved ceramic channel that allows seamless crossover of top-layer DC or RF traces, significantly simplifying PCB routing and design. Designed for high-frequency applications, the DDL10519 offers wideband performance from DC to 40GHz with excellent electrical characteristics, including over 40 dB isolation from DC to 10GHz and over 30 dB from 10 to 40 GHz. The device also delivers impressive return loss performance—over 20 dB from DC to 10 GHz and over 12 dB from 10 to 40 GHz—ensuring signal integrity across the entire band. Its compact footprint (0.15” x 0.10” x 0.02”) and ease of integration make it an ideal solution compared to more complex multilayer board approaches. Click here to view this product.

Switched Filter Banks

Knowles’ switched filter banks are compact, integrated RF modules that combine switching and filtering functions to streamline designs in aerospace, defense, and other high-reliability systems. By bringing switches and filters into a single fully shielded package, they reduce circuit transitions and improve insertion loss, flatness, VSWR, and overall signal integrity.

Typical 4-channel versions occupy less than 1.5″ × 1.5″ (reference design ~1.4″×1.4″), support surface mount or BGA attach (0.45 mm ball-pitch), and operate from –40 °C to +105 °C. They cover a broad frequency range up to 40 GHz (and beyond by request), with customizable channel count, filter types (BPF, LPF, etc.), and power handling. These filter banks are ideal for multi-band RF communications, broadband receivers, test & measurement setups, and electronic warfare applications where SWaP (size, weight, power) and high isolation among channels are critical.

Gain Equalizers

Knowles DLI brand’s line of gain equalizers are designed to compensate for module Gain Slope. Excellent, repeatable microwave performance is achieved by application of precision thin film fabrication and DLI’s high permittivity ceramic materials. Knowles DLI brand’s unique design solution provides near ideal R-C frequency response, far superior to “stacked R-C chip” Assemblies.

These gain equalizers provide a positive gain slope of up to 4 dB over a frequency range from DC to 45 GHz. They are available in compact 0402 case sizes and offer ease of assembly with reduced size and cost. The designs can also be customized as per application requirements. Click here to view Gain Equalizers from Knowles.

Quadrature Hybrid Couplers

Knowles‘ high-frequency directional couplers, utilizing DLI brand’s high-permittivity ceramic materials, deliver compact size and stable performance across a wide temperature range. Engineered for precision in monitoring incident and reflected power, these couplers offer excellent repeatability and frequency stability from 4 to 18 GHz.

Key performance metrics include 22 dB isolation, insertion loss up to 0.8 dB, and amplitude balance within 0.4 dB, ensuring consistent and reliable signal sampling. Designed with a 50-Ohm characteristic impedance, they operate effectively from –55 °C to +125 °C, making them well-suited for demanding RF and microwave applications where size, thermal stability, and performance consistency are critical. Click here to view quadrature hybrid couplers from Knowles.

Ceramic Core Inductors

Knowles’ high Q ceramic core inductors are engineered for exceptional performance and reliability in demanding medical, defense, and industrial applications. Designed to minimize signal loss, these inductors feature a high Q factor that enhances RF efficiency and reduces distortion for cleaner signal transmission. With a high self-resonant frequency (SRF), they maintain excellent performance across higher frequency ranges. Built to withstand rigorous operating conditions, they offer the reliability needed for mission-critical systems. Knowles also provides versatile packaging options, allowing designers to select from multiple form factors to meet tight space and performance requirements. Click here to view Inductors from Knowles.

Knowles’ presence at EuMW 2025 highlights its ongoing commitment to delivering precision, performance, and reliability in even the most challenging high-frequency environments.
