Mini-Circuits Introduces Wideband High-Power Amplifier Covering 0.1 to 18 GHz

Mini-Circuits has introduced the ZVE-18GB+ / ZVE-18GBX+, a new wideband coaxial power amplifier series designed to deliver saturated output power of +33 dBm across the 0.1 to 18 GHz range. The amplifier operates from a single +15 V supply and provides flat gain performance with typical values of 29-30.5 dB, according to the product documentation.

The models incorporate integrated DC-protection circuitry, including over-voltage, under-voltage, reverse-voltage, and in-rush current limiting to prevent damage during operation. With a typical current draw of 720 mA and up to 1200 mA under full-load conditions. It is built in a rugged, compact housing (2.13″ × 1.68″ × 0.74″) and features SMA female RF connectors for easy integration.

Designed for wide-ranging applications, the ZVE-18GB+ / ZVE-18GBX+ targets test and instrumentation, military EW and radar, satellite systems, 4G/5G FR1 infrastructure, Wi-Fi 6E/7, aerospace and defense, and microwave point-to-point links. The device offers a typical output IP3 of +40 dBm and a noise figure of 4 dB across the operating bandwidth. It is rated for operation from -40 to 50°C (ZVE-18GB+) or up to +60°C at the baseplate (ZVE-18GBX+), with a total power dissipation limit of 15 W, a maximum RF input of +12 dBm, and a maximum DC voltage of +16.5 V. The mechanical section includes drawings for configurations both with and without integrated heat sinks.

Ordering options, S-parameter files, performance graphs, and environmental compliance information are available on their website.
