Ezurio, a leader in wireless connectivity solutions, has introduced its latest ultra-compact BL54L15μ RF module series. Powered by Nordic Semiconductor’s advanced nRF54L15 SoC, this new series marks a significant advancement beyond Ezurio’s widely adopted nRF52-based modules, redefining Bluetooth® Low Energy (LE)802.15.4 (Thread/Matter), and NFC solutions for next-generation embedded applications.

Unleashing enhanced processing power, expanded memory, and innovative peripherals, the BL54L15µ series stands as the ultimate choice for low-power connectivity in space-constrained applications. With a 128 MHz ARM Cortex-M33 processor, a 128 MHz RISC-V coprocessor, 1.5 MB of non-volatile memory, and 256 KB of RAM, the modules double the processing power of their predecessors, like the BL654 based on the nRF52840. The BL54L15µ series operating at a frequency of 2.402- 2.480 GHz maximizes the capabilities of the nRF54L15 hardware, including +8 dBm transmit power, a wide 1.7V–3.6V voltage range, and integrated NFC A-Tag functionality.

Designed with a compact 6.3 x 7.9 mm footprint, the BL54L15μ series delivers a groundbreaking combination of performance, efficiency, and security for Bluetooth LE, 802.15.4, and NFC applications. The BL54L15μ series is powered by Nordic’s advanced nRF54L15 SoC, housed in a compact 2.4 x 2.25 mm WLCSP package, utilizing 32 GPIOs.The platform integrates high-speed peripherals, including HS-SPI/UART, software-defined peripherals on the VPR core, and a 64 MHz GPIO port supporting 11 GPIOs. It also features an extensive suite of low-leakage peripherals, such as dual QDEC, seven timers, a global RTC, dual watchdog timers, NFC A-Tag interface, temperature sensor, I2S, comparator, three PWM channels, low-power comparator, a 14-bit 8-channel ADC, and multiple TWI/SPI/UART interfaces—all accessible across 32 GPIOs at 1.7–3.6V operating range. Developers can choose between an integrated pre-certified chip antenna or an external antenna via trace pad, all within an ultra-compact footprint of just 6.3 mm x 7.9 mm x 1.75 mm. Designed for rugged environments, it supports an extended industrial temperature range from -40°C to +105°C.

The BL54L15μ supports advanced Bluetooth LE capabilities, including Peripheral/Central modes, 2 Mbps high-throughput, LE Coded PHY for long-range, Angle of Arrival (AoA)/Angle of Departure (AoD), and Bluetooth Mesh networking. It also supports Firmware Over-the-Air (FOTA) updates via MCUboot and Zephyr, ensuring seamless in-field updates. With hostless operation enabled by the multi-core architecture, system complexity and BOM cost are significantly reduced. Fully featured development kits are available to accelerate time to market. Additionally, the module delivers transmit power up to +8 dBm (adjustable in 1 dB steps) and a receive sensitivity of up to -106 dBm, ensuring robust wireless performance in demanding environments.
