Easily Automate & Monitor Farms with Tibbo’s Latest Solutions

Since you last heard from Tibbo in March, they have a lot of new updates to share with you, from both OSS (Outdoor Sensor System), and AppBlocks. Together, these updates make building out automated farming solutions easier than ever.

OSS’ Supported External Sensors are Growing

As more external sensors are configured to work with OSS, the platform becomes increasingly more flexible and suitable for farming applications.

In addition to the temperature, humidity, and CO2 sensors provided with sensor pods, Modbus sensors monitoring light, leaks, opto-isolated digital input, soil moisture/nutrients, H2S, UV, noise, rain/snow, and PM2.5 are now supported.

Wi-Fi with Cellular Backup for OSS

OSS now supports a new connectivity mode: Wi-Fi with Cellular Backup.

Wi-Fi with Cellular Backup mode enables automatic fallback to cellular when Wi-Fi communication fails. This is particularly useful for mission-critical farming applications, such as oxygen monitoring in fish farming, or light and temperature monitoring for indoor farms where 100% up-time is needed. While in this mode, sensor sampling and remote firmware upgrades operate as usual.

AppBlocks and TPS, Now Even Easier to Configure

Just getting started with AppBlocks and TPS? Dive into our “Solution” pages to discover how easy it is to bring your projects to life. For farming specifically, our Indoor Farming and Outdoor Farming pages are a great starting point.

Each “Solution” page links to a series of “Capability” pages demonstrating how to achieve core functionality with TPS and AppBlocks, for example:

With these new mini-guides, any possible confusion is eliminated by:

  1. Comparing different ways to achieve each functionality
  2. Showing you how to connect sensors to Tibbits wire-by-wire
  3. Offering a sample AppBlocks project with key logic already configured
