QPR3238 RF Amplifier by Qorvo
The QPR3238 from Qorvo is a Solid-State Amplifier (SSPA) that operates from 32 to 38 GHz. It delivers a pulsed saturated output power of up to 52 dBm (~158 W) with a power gain of 52 dB and a power added efficiency of 15%. This SSPA has a pulse repetition frequency of up to 0.5 MHz and a switching time of up to 200 ns. It has a noise power density of -20 dBm/MHz and an input return loss of 14 dB.
The QPR3238 is based on Qorvo’s patented and field-proven Spatium combining technology and has an integrated solid-state, spatial-combining amplifier and driver amplifier. It includes a DC enable function that allows for pulse or modulation of the RF output of the amplifier. This amplifier has a BLANK (Disable) mode, where the amplifier’s current draw is reduced to near 0A, resulting in reduced noise and power dissipation. It requires a DC supply of 24 V and consumes less than 1250 W of power. This amplifier is available in a module that measures 280.67 x 139.70 x 87.12 mm and has WR-28 waveguide interfaces for RF input (vertical) and output (horizontal). It is ideal as a building block for microwave high-power transmitters for EW and radar applications.
