Qorvo Introduces High-Performance Wi-Fi 7 Front-End Module Optimized for 5–7 GHz Mobile Applications

Qorvo has introduced the QM45508, a cutting-edge 5-7 GHz Wi-Fi 7 Front End Module (FEM) designed to meet the demands of next-generation mobile and wireless connectivity. Targeting Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) systems, this high-performance module offers impressive integration and a compact footprint, making it ideal for mobile devices and compact electronics where space and power efficiency are critical.

The QM45508 stands out with its multi-mode Wi-Fi transmit (TX) states, enabling fine-tuned optimization between power efficiency and high output performance. Key output capabilities include +14.5 dBm at MCS13 HE320 with -44 dB dynamic EVM and +17.5 dBm at MCS9 VHT160 with -43 dB EVM, among other high-throughput standards. The FEM supports a wide range of supply voltages (3.0V to 5.0V), offering flexibility across various mobile platforms.

On the receive side, the module delivers a low 1.9 dB noise figure and up to 14.5 dB Rx gain, ensuring excellent sensitivity even in challenging environments. It also integrates die-level harmonic filtering, 2.4 GHz rejection for DBDC (dual-band dual-concurrent) operation, and a power coupler that facilitates closed-loop power control and digital pre-distortion (DPD) optimization.

The QM45508 integrates multiple components into a single device, including a multi-TX state power amplifier, SP3T antenna switch, bypassable low-noise amplifier, and power coupler, offering a streamlined solution for OEMs and device manufacturers. Applications span smart home devices, portable consumer electronics, wearables, and customer premises equipment (CPE).
