Introducing AppBlocks — Tibbo’s No-Code Application Development Platform
July 2023 marks an important milestone in Tibbo’s journey: They have completed the first public release of AppBlocks, their no-code application builder.
Requiring nearly zero programming knowledge, AppBlocks allows you to define the business logic of your IoT or automation system by drawing flow diagrams — something that many people naturally know how to do. All work, including the application debugging, is conducted in the browser.
AppBlocks generates applications for Tibbo Project System (TPS), a modular automation platform offering an extensive assortment of IO modules known as Tibbits. By plugging Tibbits into the TPS’ mainboard and defining the operating logic through flow diagrams, system integrators and end-users can create automation solutions quickly and cost-effectively.
When designing AppBlocks, we focused on popular automation tasks faced by our customers. This allowed us to finetune the system’s capabilities, minimizing the diagram complexity for many typical applications in data collection, security, access control, building automation, precision agriculture, and other popular fields.
For instance, consider an access control project featuring a user ID table with card expiry dates, a door reader, an exit button, a door sensor, an alarm, remote control, and logging of all events. This requires just 50 blocks! Such an application, traditionally demanding days or even weeks of coding in conventional programming languages, can now be constructed in an hour.
To showcase the AppBlocks’ potential, we have created the Tutorials – a collection of projects covering important AppBlocks features. We invite you to explore the Tutorials to get inspiration for rapidly devising an automation solution for you or your clients, all within the comfort of your browser.
